Good work! I have had to supplement some kids with a bottle if they don't seem to be thriving. It is exhausting to be milking, bottle feeding, and assisting nursing. Makes me wonder why we look forward to kidding season so much! Stevie@ruffledfeathersandspillmilk.com

The aphids were back this Spring but aren't as bad as last year. We still use the yellow dish of water which attracts them to jump in and drown. We also have a new toad who lives in the hot house. We leave a pan of water incase he wants to go for a dip. By the size of his bulging sides I would say he is eating plenty of Aphids!

Acidophilus powder.This is “good bacteria” for your digestive system. It is excellent to prevent upset stomachs whether traveling or during normal life. You can buy it by the bottle as loose powder to be taken by the spoonful or in capsule form. Some require refrigeration is it’s a live culture but others have been formulated so as not to need refrigeration. It can also be found in some yoghurts, but my naturopath in Sydney explained that the powder form is way more effective than yoghurt from the supermarket (and she wasn’t selling the powder). In my experience, those designed to be chilled are more effective. I carried mine wrapped inside a freezer bag (like you use to chill beer) when I first came to Ghana and this kept the bottle chilled for a good 40 hours between home and my final destination.Protein powder.This helps ensure you get enough protein each day to support travel-weary muscles. Unlike acidophilus powder, this doesn’t need refrigeration, but it’s still important to get a good brand. Protein powder has little taste and you can add the recommended spoonfuls to plain water or juice or to oatmeal or a shake. Protein bars are also popular alternatives.

The day for worship is not the issue, keeping the Sabbath is the issue. True, every day is a day of worship and we can gather any time. BUT, regardless of the day we choose to worship, one of the 10 commandments IS to remember the Sabbath and keep the Sabbath Holy. If we keep the rest of the commandments, why do we not keep this one? Sabbath is a beautiful day, not a day of punishment! =)

I still keep some commercial dry cat and dog food here. Sometimes I mix it with the homemade food. If I am away from home Bill feeds the dogs and cats the commercial food.

I also might forget to take the homemade food out of the freezer the night before! [Memory is good but short sometimes].Because I make it in big batches I freeze it in smaller portions so it keeps fresh. Like everything else it is good to use balance in making pet food because after all it is more work. A little commercial food and some home made food gives pets a good balance of nutrition.

I agree with you Blog Sponge and thanks for your comment; The day is not important but what is important is the worship. Our Sabbath rest is in Christ when we are Christians. We can gather for worship any day. Jesus said; "For where two are three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them."
It also says in Hebrews 10:24-25 " And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: Not forsaking the assembbling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching." KJV

The New Testament says to gather together but no where does it specify a certain day.My husband wrote the accompanying article following "The Sabbath Day Switch"; titled "Which Day Is The Christian Sabbath ?".It explains these things.

After a few days eating only the homemade dog food I find both the little dog and house cat are hungry by noon.Normally I feed them at 7:00am and 5:00pm. Now at noon I give them a doggie treat like a milk bone and cat treats for Isaac or some whole wheat bread with a little milk.That seems to satisfy them until supper. They are also losing a little weight as they were too fat and they are more active playing.Now if only I could lose weight so easily! Molly seems quite content eating twice a day although I give her a bone when Lucky gets his.Have to be fair!
